My name is Floris
The main goal with this blog is to promote and share insights regarding the theater in South Africa especially but not excluding the rest of the world, with an emphasis on costumes. My interest in this field comes from my work as a costume designer to the extraordinary artist Nataniel!
Most of the blog will be pictures, As soon as a run of a show I've worked on has been completed I will post my pics!! and my hope is that I can give some much needed exposure to the theater industry in South Africa!

The first bunch is from the
Nataniel production Rainbow@Midnight that ran at
Emperors Palace , The show is up for 7 Naledi Theater Awards, including one for best costume design.

The Magic box, in Rainbow@Midnight, Nataniel is Blown away by Bradley Dreyeramd Lindiwe Bungane!!! I Love the outfit Nataniel is wearing!! It turned out better than I could Ever have hoped, I'm sure this is part of the reason I am honored to be nominated by the Naledi Theatre Awards

Look at the trees!!! in there hiding is Nicolaas Swart, Corlea Botha and Lindiwe Bungane. and breaking his back is Bradley Dreyer!!!! Nataniël le Roux is actually wearing the same outfit we made for the poster but modified, it was made so we could change it up! The lighting design in this scene was spectacular! Kevin Stannet did the lighting design and is also nominated at the Naledi Theatre Awards!! well deserved!!... but wait till you see what he did with the horse!!

For the opening of the song, Bradley appeared as a winged insect,
he then shed his skin to appear in a body suit for the rest of the ballet |
Nataniël le Roux, telling a story, with an eye patch a horse and a chair! horses ran as a theme through the show Nataniel is nominated by the Naledi Theatre Awards for best performance by a male in a musical and I'd say it is well deserved!!

Lindiwe Bungane Has "a Rack that that will break your back" Corlea Botha has a huge beautifull ass! An Tonia is stuck with a mountain of a hump... I have no idea how they did the choreography in these costumes!!! my hats off to them, everything in this scene came together, the lights the moves the words the costumes!! So proud of the cast and crew with their
Naledi Theatre Awards nominations!!!!

The widest dress I've ever made!!!!! Sarah is helping the dress is just to big!! I couldn't help but to try it out!! and then it came on stage and was even bigger and moved on its own How Fantastic!!! I want to thank tne Naledi Theatre Awards from the depths of my heart for recognizing the work I did on Rainbow at Midnight!!!

Taking a mirror selfie in a tree, now that's a sentence I never saw coming!! being so far away a lot of the correspondence between Nataniel an I are selfies!!!

In two of the 'in between' shirts!! loads of beading!! I seem really happy, sure it was the fact that some of the garments were totally done! these were the first ones i finished!!
